The illustrations for each of Florence + the Machine albums capture the whimsical nature, thematic richness, and imagination of the artist and the music she creates. The art style is inspired by detailed woodcut prints. Every illustration and detail refers to the titles or lyrics of the sons in each album, presenting the viewer with a visual representation of each body of music.

"Lungs" is more focused on nature, animals, and human's physical connection to the world. "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" ventures outside the realm of the physical, with lyrics mentioning kings and queens, goods, saints, the sea and the sky, and ultimately, the connection of the spirit to the universe.
